August 27, 2015

Today is very special because I'm taking out my new camera outoodor for the very first time. I'm still with my training wheels, so the camera was set to 'Auto Mode' the whole time. I know, I know, I should familiarize myself with the settings. But today is my first time, I just want to get the 'feel' of shooting street/urban/outdoor. Maybe we can gradually master Manual Exposure Mode as the months go by. How do I achieve what other people call 'SOOC' or Straight Out Of Camera perfection? Everything I shot today was embarrassing -- either overexposed or most of them underexposed. I had the whole afternoon to myself, it was very nervous, am I doing the right thing?

I really don't know what to do. Ahaha, I laugh at myself...

Google is your knowledge base when it comes to researching. It was the one I relied on for 2 months, leading up to the decision to go for a Nikon, and this brand new D5200 camera. This whole experience is a shock to me. I'm just new to everything, bothered by so many nagging questions on my first week...

"Where do I go to shoot?"
"What should I shoot?"
"What do I love to shoot?"
"What can this lens do for me, is it good?"
"What lenses do I need to get in the future?"
"What will my niche be?"
"I'm very shy, how do I approach people?"
"Never mind, they'll just shoo me away..."
"I'm going out alone, is it safe?"
"What if it rains?"
"What if I accidentally drop my gear and damage it?"
"People will say, wala naman kuwenta ginagawa ko..."
"I don't know what to do..."
"People will make fun of me..."
"It's embarrassing..."
Flowers?
Sunset?
Buildings?
Interior?
"Oh, maybe a zoo or a flower garden would be my favorite hangout..."
"I feel lonely going out alone, it's my first time to shoot outdoor after all..."
"Why are my shots today so bad???"

I edited this photo to make it look like a fisheye. Maybe I should get one someday.
