April 18, 2016.

Today's photo walk is from the area of Avenida Recto. One of my goals for this day was to test my Vivitar 28-210mm f/3.5-5.6 (Cosina) lens that had a badly scratched front glass when I bought it. Surely nobody would buy this junk, but I really wanted it for special effect and experimentation.

I've already done several mods to this Vivitar zoom lens, and the latest was to draw black paint/ink under the front glass to reduce stray light. For those who don't know, this is common practice and it's effective! I guess this damaged lens isn't junk after all. It's a matter of knowing your stuff well. The first three photos here were shot with the Vivitar 28-210.

The vignetting here was caused by the black ink

My usual combo for a faux ultra wide angle lens are the Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4 and fisheye adapter. A true fisheye lens would have better image quality, whereas I often get coma with wide aperture here. Most of the photos here are set to f/16. The remaining photos that follow were shot with the fisheye combo.
