Selenophile. That is a term for people who have a fascination and love for the moon. It's a pretty common desire for us humans to gaze at this beautiful artwork by the celestial kingdom.

From December 2014, shot with Canon SX510.

One of my projects this 2016 is to be able to document the full moon of every month. I have bought a 1000-3000mm lens this March for that purpose, but the T2-to-Nikon-F Adapter I ordered only arrived after the full moon phase. Therefore, we'll get to try this super telephoto lens this April!

This March 2016, the full moon shot was really uninspired. I took out my newly acquired Vivitar 28-210mm zoom lens (with Macro Mode at 210mm) for a few test shots that same night. It was a bad copy to begin with deep scratches on the front element, that's why I got it for super cheap. But hey, the experimental spirit is always there! These test shots of the lens were from March 20, 2016 (left unedited for you to see)...

Flare test at 28 mm. I think this is specific to my copy of the lens,
because of the scratches on its front element.

Still at 28 mm

Now at 210 mm. The glare works to beautiful effect in this scene.
That same day... this severe flaring is caused by the scratches on my copy.
This may not apply to all lenses.

Now for a night shot at 28 mm, ISO 6400... not bad!
