March 22, 2016

Today, I came across this peculiar-looking telephoto zoom lens, the Zoom-Nikkor 100-300mm f/5.6 Macro. Really, the length of the lens caught my attention. I don't see this lens very often. I'm pretty sure that someone would get this before I do, so I better snap some samples...

(Awww... someone else beat me to the race and got the lens the next day. Thanks alot!)

UPDATE: I have the lens now, exactly after one year!

Funny coincidence, I would finally get my hands on my very own copy exactly a year later! =)

Nikkor 100-300mm f/5.6

Macro Mode is at 100mm. At this range, I'm able to shoot macros at 0.7 meters and free from distortions. The image quality is superb, I'm really blown away on first try, must have!

At 100mm, the image looks flat and like real life.
At 35mm, there's a tendency to distortion when you shoot at certain angles.

The lens is long and a bit heavy, but the built feels super sturdy. Everything is made of metal and glass.
