February 13, 2017: A Romantic Photowalk in Intramuros (Aduana, Manila Cathedral)

February 13, 2017

Intramuros has a romantic feeling to it, probably because of the nostalgia the environment brings. I hope that maybe one of these days, I might stumble upon a lover in this area (you know, like they do in the movies), not necessarily long term, not necessarily a sweet guy, but with a guy who is capable of taking care of himself. I'm not picky, but you know how I fantasize dark or chocolate skin with curly/kinky hair as my idea of deliciously sexy. Where are you Mr. Loverboy? Will I find you in the romantic city of Intramuros?

Oh dear, I had no plans to go to Intramuros today, it's because I took the wrong ride again! Hmmm, while the jeep was along the riverside, it should be a good starting point to get off, look around, hopefully stumble upon some surprises and find a central topic for my story. These photos were shot from the riverside, just across the Aduana (Customs) Building.

So there. After looking at the Pasig River side for a while, nasa bungad yung Aduana (Customs) building. I've seen it many times before but paid no mind. Suddenly, this figure is like gold to me. This building was built during the Spanish colony in the 19th century and housed some government offices, until it was burned in 1979 and never used again. Naisip ko lang... sayang, such beautiful architecture. Look at the style and all the details.

I'm afraid I might get lost, but I found a gate near the Aduana Building. From there, I saw Lyceum of the Philippines University along Muralla Road

Walking straight ahead, I see more beautiful buildings. But there's no time to go inside and sit around, really. So at the end of the road is the Manila Cathedral. That's where I spent the rest of the day. Here's the last scene for today's photowalk.
