Something about these little orange color-coated quail eggs, known locally as 'kwek-kwek' are driving me nuts. Sometimes I have a strong craving for them. Maybe because I love the creamy and somewhat milky flavor of these little orange thingies.

Okay, so these things are super high cholesterol and should be eaten in moderation. I don't eat these on a daily basis, but when I do, I often indulge with 15 to 20 pieces. The max I ever ate was 30 pieces, before I gave up. Fortunately, I have never experienced any headache or health effects after long term eating. Maybe because I love to drink VERY BITTER tea (1 liter daily), which has a detoxifying effect.

However, I do find myself to be very picky. There are only a few vendors that I always keep coming back to. The batter they use is very thick, and I wonder what special flavor they add, but I also like the slight saltiness of the orange coating.

Kwek-kwek is a Filipino delicacy and it's a very delicious treat. You see them alot being sold in the sidewalk. While people commonly love to make these things float in spiced vinegar before eating them, sometimes I like to crank up the danger level to 'MAX' by submerging them in mayonnaise instead.

My point is -- you don't need to spend thousands for expensive food, you don't need to go abroad to find delicious food, these things are everywhere in case you get the craving/curiosity.

These two shots were from my suki vendor. Tara, food trip tayo?
