March 25, 2017

I wasn't feeling pretty good today, but on my way home, the Zoom-Nikkor 100-300mm f/5.6 Macro telephoto zoom lens had a chance for testing in low light night scenes. It had fungus, but I'm really amazed at its image quality considering its current state.

While meditating at my secret garden before going home, a friendly street cat crossed my path. There were only 6 shots that I took but only 4 are presented here. They were shot at f/8 because it's hard to get the whole subject in focus. It was totally dark and the optical viewfinder is literally black, my eyes relying on the moving outlines to focus manually. With a little help from the camera's flash (at 1/32), we get these shots. For the video, I relied on my phone's LED for lighting. I was hoping to get the perfect moment and very thankful that the cat showed its best poses.
