I remember getting this lens in March 2016 out of curiosity. It looks like a nice superzoom lens. The problem was, there's a scratch in the front glass and the body looks badly beaten up. It was my first ever super zoom lens that came along with a Nikon F-301 film camera (also in bad condition!).

After a quick disassembly and cleanup, the lens is now back together in one piece. For crying out loud! I'm getting myself into trouble again. I love quirky lenses -- those lenses in bad condition, are challenging to use, which people normally don't want to buy. For the sake of study and experimentation.

The huge scratch is causing an annoying starburst on highlights. Some parts of the image appear to have a loss of contrast due to the light diffraction caused by the scratches. I tried applying black ink over the scratches if it might help. It DID help, but now I have dark spots on my images haha... As per image quality, I like how the soft contrast resembles images shot with film. There's nothing I can do about it but to learn from every use.

The longer the focal length, the crazier the starburst!

Just for fun, I inverted the front glass for a reverse globular effect. It was fun for a while, but one will eventually move on to other things.
