June 27, 2017

I'm not feeling well today, and it was raining when I charged out of home to pickeup some lenses from the Post Office in NIA -- the Sun Optic SUN MULTI ZOOM 60-135mm f/3.5 (YS-Nikon) and the Olympus OM-System Zuiko Auto-Zoom 65-200mm f/4 Macro. Soaking wet once at the Post Office, then toasted outdoor afterward. What else, I thought my fever was gonna get worse!

Once I was in our neighborhood, the Sun lens was an exciting lens to do my bokeh comparison shots. I also hope to finish the product photos and videos as soon as possible.

The Sun lens is beautifully crafted (as with all other Sun lenses) and has Nikkor-like quality when I made my first test shots... so awesome! It uses an interchangeable 'YS' which is basically a T-mount adapter that supports auto diaphragm. This will make a nice portrait lens. The minimum focusing distance is 2 meters, so this is not for closeups. I saw somewhere else a macro version of this, but at f/4 maximum aperture. The lens is in mint condition and does not need any servicing, plus it also came with its original carrying box!

The Olympus lens, however, needs alot of internal cleaning from fungus and haze. I'm awaiting the OM-Nikon adapter so I can make some test shots. This looks like another promising lens.

UPDATE: That night, a seller from Japan updated me with the correct tracking number for another set of lenses, which shows it was already En Route To Delivery Office since June 12, but the Post Office hasn't sent me any notification for 2 weeks! So the next day, despite still feeling sick and almost to faint, I went to pickup the Nikkor 43-86mm f/3.5 (version 2, multicoated) and the SMC Pentax-M 75-150mm f/4.
