The Olympus OM-System Zuiko Auto-Zoom 65-200mm f/4 is a rare but sought after lens, made from the mid-1980s up to the early 1990s.

I bought this lens for a conversion project and to be used on my D5200. However, the mount replacement part that arrived (it took 2 months!) was not compatible so I decided to abort the project.  Another 3 months passed, and I revisited this lens and finally cleaned the fungus/haze with my secret technique. Some Olympus lenses were notorious for being prone to having haze in the rear element, such as this one. And it was not easy to open unlike others I've done before, which does not help in this situation.

What people don't always see is the inside of the lens. When I opened it up, I can see how much the quality they put into this lens -- eg. velvet lining inside the lens to absorb internal reflection, good craftsmanship, etc.

Once the lens was cleaned, it has a nice image quality. Sharp, good contrast, nice natural colors. It's not overly sharp and wide at f/4 has a nice pearly (but not glowing) look that I also noticed with my other Olympus lenses. Which makes it a nice lens for portraiture too.
