LENSTORATION: Sankyo Kohki KOMURA 200mm f/3.5 in Konica AR Mount, Stubborn Haze and Scratches on Glass

Sankyo Kohki KOMURA 200mm f/3.5 in Konica AR Mount, Stubborn Haze and Scratches on Glass
Now the glass is cleaned from stubborn haze!

06 August 2017

This is already my second copy of this lens since I sold the first one more than a year ago. However, I noticed some difference in the glass, font and the markings. This time, I have the advantage of shooting the lens with better product shots than I did last year.

The new one is a later version, and the glass looks multicoated versus the single coating of the one I had before.

When this copy arrived, the fron glass and middle glass already had scratches and some stubborn haze. With a bit of effort and my secret technique for removing haze, it did work and the cloudy glass has become clear. The images now don't glow. The image quality looks good now. However, I will not bother myself with converting the Konica AR mount adapter to a Nikon mount.

The only other fix I did to this lens today was to make the two aperture rings aligned so that both numbers are in a straight light to the red dot. I hope to announce this lens for a bargain sale this week

The product shots using Nikon D5200, Micro-Nikkor-P 55/3.5, and Tamron Adaptall 2 SP 90/2.5 macro (52B).
