There's a saying that "If ain't broken, don't fix it." which holds true. It's been a year since I bought my ultra-wide Tokina AT-X Pro SD 12-24mm f/4 (Version 1) in September 2016. The lens was dropped by the previous owner and so the front filter thread had cracked, but the whole thing was working and doing well.

It's been a year and I've used this workhorse alot. It still doesn't need any sort of fixing, but I thought it might be nice to iron out a few details here and there...

Such as fixing the rubber grip on the zoom ring, now it's glued and it looks better without the old rubber ring wrapped around it. I disassembled the whole lens to glue here and there to finally seal the cracks.

I'm finally putting super glue after one year of this.

The purpose of gluing this part is so that it always stay in 'manual focus mode', because I always accidentally push it to AF mode.

The encircled part shows the impact of the fall. Now I've straightened it and the lens looks straighter.

Tada! Final look. The rubber grip of the zoom ring now looks better in place with the glue.

BEFORE. The rubber on the zoom ring was so loose, it need something to hold it in place.
